The Women’s National Book Association, a nonprofit professional association, was founded in 1917 to give visibility to the role of women in the world of books and publishing, to bring together women and men active in that world, and to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information. WNBA/Washington, the third largest WNBA chapter, was established in 1978.
