Reading Lists

WNBA/Washington 25th Anniversary Booklist
The Washington Chapter of the Women’s National Book Association marked its 25th anniversary in 2003. In celebration, chapter members recommended books authored by women and published within the past 25 years that they have found particularly memorable and enjoyable.

Women’s Words: 75 Books by Women Whose Words Have Changed the World
This list was published originally in 1992, the 75th anniversary year of WNBA National. It honors women “whose words have changed the world,” and who “have brought insight, awe, and pleasure to countless readers over the years.”

Eighty Books for the 21st Century Girl
Members of the Women’s National Book Association throughout the United States selected this list of eighty important books in 1997 as part of our organization’s 80th anniversary celebration.

Another source for finding excellent reading for children is the Children’s Literature web site, with book reviews, themed reviews, lists of award-winning selections, and much more.
